The office had new carpet put in and the worker disconnected and unplugged everything. When it was time to hook everything back up the network was unavailable. The network needed to be reset. The technician came out and could not get in. I also called security and was told that it had to be authorized by someone for me to be let in. Barbara Mandell went over with me but I did not have the right information and I had to go back out of my office to get the information from the technician. By the time I got back the office was locked up again. I called Sam Williams and Mike Ard and the technician Dave Tallmen will be out on Monday when Kathy McGee will be back in her office. After Roberts 105 was carpeted, we were asked to reconnect the printers and xerox printer/copier. After verifying the ethernet cable/jack was operational, I plugged it into the copier. However, the copier is unable to complete the restart process and gets an error that the network controller could not be initialized. It suggests checking the cable, which has already been confirmed good. Please take a look, since the faculty in the building are asking about this machine. Let me know if I can help and please keep me in the loop as what the problem is so I can keep the faculty up to date. I replugged the cable and restarted the machine multiple times and continue to get the same error. I do not know who unplugged it, or how long it was out of service. Please contact me at x1319 when you are able to determine what the problem is. As I mentioned on the phone, the administrative assistant who works in this office will not be back on campus until Monday. Security can let you in the office tomorrow. Thanks.
